When i start windows 95 it shows insufficent memory'
tried adding this to system.ini but no prevail
MaxPhysPage=30000
my memory is 4 gigabytes
help? Anyone???

Solution
Windows 95 tends not work at all above 512MB. You have to remember that 4GB RAM tended to only exist in the highest end servers back in the Win 95 era, and that most machines were running far less than even 512MB (think 4-16MB max)
What hardware do you try it on? What is the exact version of w95?
Sometimes there is a specific solution to that problem depending on your motherboard and chipset, and trying to deal with MaxPhysPage is a good start. Perhaps it's just a matter of finding the correct parameter.

I've had good luck running WIN98se with 1GByte, the machine has 3GBytes. Cut the maxphypage back to 512MBytes as suggested here.

Oddly enough- booted into Real Mode, Phar Lap Extended DOS will use all 4GBytes. I'm running 3.4GBytes on a Panasonic CF-52 running PharLap DOS 8.0.

98SE originally only supported up to 1GB RAM. People have created drivers that can handle higher amounts, but they're not official and most aren't really stable. If you're running Windows 95 you should probably stick to its maximum of 512MB.
