Its always interesting to see enthusiasts talk about the server market as if its the same as the desktop market. And to dismiss the mobile market, which sells more than desktop.


Mo bile is more important than desktop and HPC is more important than desktop and sales are not nearly the same in the HPC market as desktop. Its a whole different beast and just releasing a product with more cores will not get AMD a huge chunk of sales there, which is vastly more profitable than desktop per chip anyways.
