Hello everyone,

I have recently bought a new CPU and Motherboard however came to the issue of the mounting bracket of my NZXT Kraken X53 not supporting the LGA1700 mount, will this still work or if not is there a bracket I can buy online that will allow me to use the AIO on my new CPU or will I have to splurge more money and buy another cooler?

Thanks,
Isaac.

NZXT was mailing brackets for free (proof of purchase needed) but there was obviously a wait. Then I think there was a backorder and now the KB page got taken down. If they are still giving them out you'll probably be waiting for a long while especially with the holiday season.

Not just that, a 240mm AIO will not be enough for a 13900K. Just return it and get a 360 or 420mm.

Thank you for replying, I bought the cooler a long time ago for my current set up which is why I was wondering of its compatibility, what cooler would you suggest for a 13900k that is going to be used for gaming and video editing. I also have an NZXT h500i (been discontinued for a while now) but don't know if a bigger cooler will fit.

Thanks,
Isaac.

Supposedly, I can't verify, your case can fit a 280mm. Options are limited but even without limitations I still would have recommended Corsair. Take a look at their H115i 280mm. Corsair coolers are great and the extra size of a 280 is the 240mm will at least give some extra cooling benefit.

But then depending where you live you have to compare the price of the 280 to the 360 (common sizes go on sale more often) and determine if it's cheaper to get a new mid-case and a 360mm or get a 280mm and keep the case.

Also just for future reference if I were to upgrade the case what dimensions should I look at upgrading to, i though mid towers were generally pretty standard sizing. Sorry may sound dumb

Not a dumb at all and perfectly valid. In my experience midtowers cover a pretty parge range. Mine fits a 360, some can fit a 420. Newer cases should list exactly what fits like mine NZXT H5 Flow (https://nzxt.com/product/h5-flow). Aside from the page showing the AIO sizes that fit it also says how many and what size fans. You'll also see looking at the inside, some like the one above have a "cage" on the bottom over the PSU while others are open and allow for more fans. I like the cage design despite sacrificing fan space because I can put a GPU brace to keep it from sagging. Can't do that when there are fans there.

The 13900K is the surface of the sun inside your case so you need as much cooling as possible.

That reminds me, Thermalright CPU Contact Frame for LGA 1700 Retrofit Kit on Amazon (and others I'm sure too) is an absolute must. The clamping for the 12-14th Geb CPUS is garbage and the motherboard can warp overtime without the brace.

Happy to work with you more but right now it's 3am and I still haven't gone to bed yet so it's time to force myself. Feel free to post more if needed and I or some other helpful folks here will be sure to chime in

Thank you again this is all very useful and I'll have a play around with layout and see how I can get things to be positioned in the case. Appreciate all the help!
