Intel and nVidia vs AMD for AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor

I'll be mostly using the applications stated above and I will also be doing some really light gaming (TF2 and Far Cry Primal (no need for 60+fps at ultra)). If it helps my screen has a resolution of 1440p. I'm really not sure which build to go with or if it should be some combination of the two. I'm mostly concerned about the cpu and gpu but any suggestions/advice for the storage would be helpful.

The Ryzen is a better CPU in workloads that will use all 16 threads. I believe 3d render job will make use of this. The AMD will smoke down the i7 in this use case.

In gaming, the higher clocked i7 still wins, however the AMD will do just fine.. its not that big of a gap anymore.

I would also go with the 480 8GB. Some 3d applications love video ram. Your games will not need all that ram.

Because gaming is second to real workstation stuff, I really think the highly threaded AMD chip is the better option, especially considering it is the same price roughly.

I'd go Ryzen as well here.
The sheer number of threads will be an advantage

At 40$ less go for a rx480 over the 1060.

Instead of the EVGA Nex, aim for the G3, G2 or GS which are far superior quality compared to the NEX

I'd also recommend either a Quadro or a FirePro card instead of a gaming card if you plan on mainly using the system for AutoCAD, etc. Unfortunately, they are not very cheap.

autocad is friendly with both amd and nvidia gpus, inventor no idea what it likes, revit seems to be the same as autocad

the rest would be the cpu

both machines look very nice to me but the intel could use a z270 better i think, not sure

it seems that for those tasks you mention r7 is better atm but not usre if using the amd or the nvidia solution you will get more

perhaps with the nvidia 1060?

All of our cad computers run Nvidia cards at work, they have always faired better then AMD cards. I run a i7 980x with 4 GTX 670's 3 in sli and a 4th for extra monitors (run 4 at work) I run autocad 2017 without any issues.

I couldn't figure out how to reply on my phone but if I'm going to go with the ryzen 7 1700 should I go for an x370 board for sli/crossfire in the future or should I forget that and get a cheaper b350 board
