Anyway... been an Intel fan for 32 years and that's about to change.
Haven't built a PC in 18 years, but currently gathering my parts list for a new system. Of course I wanted to go Intel... had my 14900k all picked out.
Heard about the issues going on, so was hopeful that by the time I was ready to actually buy parts (which is within weeks), that they'd have sorted the issue out. But all I'm hearing is that it's a bandaid fix and not to mention, it turns the 14900k basically into an overpriced 13900k. WTH?
Then I thought, let me hold off till mid-October and maybe I'll give that a shot. But in thinking about it, why even bother postponing a build on a hope that this CPU won't also have issues? If it's one thing I've learned out of this... Intel can't be trusted and they don't have the consumers backs. If they cared, this issue would have been addressed a LONG time ago.
So I've decided I'm going to switch to AMD and not only save money, but also save on a lot on my electric bill and with the same 'if not better' performance as Intel. Maybe I'll switch back to Intel someday in the future... but at minimum it'll be 2+ years of watching what's going on with their releases and anymore stability issues.
