I have a new ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-H motherboard (about 30 days of me having it) and since installing this board I keep getting random drops on my WiFi connection. I'm not certain on this but it SEEMS that it may just be dropping when it gets a heavier load on it, more than just basic web browsing/streaming. In my particular case. this has been while playing games with friends and streaming 1080 video. That seems to be enough for it to just start dropping at random times, and then my event viewer shows a lot of netwtw12 event ID 6062 errors. After about 30 seconds to one minute, it seems to come back online and begin working again (though for how long is always a mystery) I have tried many things to get this to work including:

1. Updated wireless driver using ASUS support site
2. Updated wireless driver using even newer version directly from Intel
3. Updated BIOS(UEFI)/Chipset versions
4. Re-installed Windows 11
5. Factory defaulted ALL BIOS/UEFI settings
6. Restarting Wireless Router and Modem

I am mostly out of ideas at this point except will be trying one other thing tonight. That being to change the Intel AX211 chip settings to only use 802.11ac only instead of ax/ac. I'm not sure if that will have any effect on this, but its the last thing I can think to try. Has anyone else experienced this before and found a fix? It's looking like it will end up being an RMA, but I'd prefer not to if its not absolutely necessary and if I may just be missing something simple... The other features on this board have been working fine otherwise.

I should add that I have read every forum post from the web that I could find on this issue, and what others have tried that fixed it for them, and have still had no luck. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide!

Did you recreate the bootable installer for the OS to rule out a corrupt installer? Speaking of which, you're advised to install the OS in an offline mode and then manually install all relevant drivers in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

If you've verified that the BIOS is indeed on the latest version, did you clear the CMOS?

I created a new installer and installed without internet. I then snagged the drivers I needed from a laptop and then installed them as you said, in an elevated manner. I have not however tried to clear the CMOS. I will give that a try when I get home and see if there is any results with it.

After some more extensive testing so far this weekend, I can say that the problem has not gone away. It still does the same thing where it drops to zero and all of my programs die that were actively using the internet at that time. After about 30-45 seconds, it comes back online... until the next drop. Whenever that may be.
