Intel build or AMD build??

I created these two lists, with significant help from various nice people on forums and a lot of research. Essentially the same except one is intel-based and the other is AMD-based. The price difference is of no concern to me. What I want to know is which build should yield more average performance in the fields of: gaming, video editing, web surfing, school needs(word processing, etc.).
Which is better? Opinions and objective feedback are both welcome!

But I have some questions for you : Are you going to SLI? Because your PSU is way too stronk for 760. Save money 😉
Do you really need sound card? This cheap card won't be much better than integrated one. If you really want better sound go with better and more expensive card if don't, stay with integrated

For gaming, either or. Most modern games don't rely on CPUs so you'll probably see similar results. If you're using multiple programs at once like web browsers and video editors you may want the AMD build since it has 8 cores vs the 4 cores of the i5.

If I had to guess which will give you average performance, I'd go with the AMD build.

His PSU is a combo discount with the GPU, so it's probably cheaper for him to not change that. You are right however, that that sound card is going to be pretty much worthless. Go with an ASUS Xonar, you'll be happy you did.

I recommend not to go with expensive sound card except you are audiophile. It is damn 80 dollars for which you can pick 7970 or even 770.

I agree, I find onboard to be perfectly fine for me, I was merely offering a better replacement if he is deadset on getting a soundcard.
