intel celeron D

i have an intel celeron d 2.53 ghz processor. with 1 gig ram and a ati video card w/ 128 megs mem. when playing a game like city of heros after 10 mins the gsame slows down. do you think it's the cpu should i go to the p4 w/ h.t?
and yes i am on a cable line 4.5meg down and 768k up. what should i do

Does your case have adequate cooling? If it slows down after 10 minutes, it sounds like your CPU might be overheating and throttling. A 2.53GHz Celeron D shouldn't be that hot, because of the low clock speed and 533MHz FSB, but it can happen. You should check your temperatures as soon as it starts slowing down.

What exact video card do you have? And for interest is that an LGA775?

is there a way to see it ,y video card is heating up. how can i check that
