I am looking to purchase a new laptop. I'm looking at the 13 inch macbook pro but concerned about the processor. Not sure if I should be. the 15 inch has the i5 processor and better graphics card. Not sure what would be best considring intel coming out with the 2nd generation i processors.

No just turning ten
she does know the difference of course
but
she still gets scared by scary movies etc
like most kids around her age
I want her to learn that the horror movies and
creepy games are just silliness

The real monsters in this world are cancer, poverty, starvation and terrorism etc
Not vampires or zombies
Those are just silly fun

Poetry, pure poetry... Haha  I see. I just thought you had a 6 year old playing Bioshock, and I was like, "WHAT THE HECK?!?! THIS GUY IS A MANIAC!" haha

Cool :)

she is actually right next to me reading this BTW

she says "she has alot of fun playing BShock but is still scared of alot
of pretend monsters like Freddy Krueger (i did let her watch the cleaner parts of
Nightmare on Elm Street since she was having nightmares from the TV commercials
and I wanted her to see that Freddy is kinda of corny with his jokes)

also I showed her Youtube of Robert Englund (actor-Freddy) and how
he looks like a nice old grandfather
she felt better afterwards LOL

Easter vacation or Spring Break to be Politically Correct LOL
Thank you for the compliment
I really try to do my best as a Dad
It is the hardest job in the world to be a good Dad
Also like being her friend while at the same time being her father
Very fine line

No problem. I hope you can mod the PSP and Wii. I don't even have to first clue to coding and madding and all that, so I can't help you. That's beyond me.

Happy Easter break!

The PSP 3000 is at $130 USD so I got that plus a 8gb mem stick plus
Sonic RIvals,Hannah Montana and Sega Genesis 28 game collection

the sega genesis collection is kinda for me too LOL
she likes it and it has all the cool games from the 16bit Genesis which
i loved back in the day
It is great to play all the games that I couldnt afford back then :)

No I cant take a chance with modding them
Though when Sonys NGP game player comes
out then she will get that and I will get her PSP :) LOL
then the fun begins
I had to set up a network render machine with Sony Vegas Pro 8 to
handle the work load from transcoding her movies and videos
That was alot of fun but hard work at same time

Man, your hands are full.

Yeah, same. I think he got his answer and just didn't pick it though. Here, I will set him straight, RIGHT NOW! If you are buying a Mac just to buy and Mac and just check E-mail, get the C2D. If you are actually doing something with your machine, like video editing, multi-tasking, playing games, etc. get the Core i5. There is your answer.

Symmetric Multi Processing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symmetric_multiprocessing

basically have two cpus in one tower
originally referring to dual Xeon or Opteron etc workstations and servers
I owned an older Dual Xeon for years and love dual cpu setups
Dont let anybody fool you
if you have a chance at a modern dual CPU setup cheap then go for it
More cores the better
Really expensive and not gaming machines since they dont overclock or usually have SLI/CF etc
but for encoding/rendering/multitasking they cant be beat by anything
if you look at multithreaded benches like Cinebench they are dominated by dual CPU setups
how can you not like the idea of 8 cores/16 threads (or more) with 32gb ram!

Thank you.

do you mean why we "fight" on here

if you mean that
well some members are rude and ignorant
usually young kids (nothing personal to the good kids)
or thirty year old people living in mothers basement

I have seen others or myself get insulted for no reason
