Hi.Can i overclock an Intel core i3 3240 3.4 ghz by the base clock?
My motherboard is Gigabyte B75M-D3V.
Thanks.
If any info needed tell me.

Solution
You'll have to overclock it by raising the fsb and trust me when I tell you it's a waste of time. You're looking at around 150mhz at most which is completely negligible. It is 100% not worth the strain you will put on the rest of your components.
With that motherboard, I doubt it. B-sseries chipsets usually are business-oriented and have less features desired by consumers/gamers.

However, these instructions (though old) may be of use to you.

CTurbo is absolutely correct. Do not attempt to overclock unless you have a "K" series processor.

Changing the base clock even by just a few Megahertz often results in instabilities such as inconsistent boot ups, blue screen crashes, and especially data corruption, which just isn't worth the risk.
