Question Intel Core i5-12400F on an ASUS Prime H610M-E D4-CSM ?

The 5700x will win out in games that take advantage of more cores/threads, than a 12400 can provide. If you never intend to upgrade the CPU, in the same motherboard, I would say 5700x. More cores/threads will help it last longer. If you think you will, then I did run across this. It would give you an upgrade path to a 12th-14th gen i7/i9.

Is it worth getting the I5-12600kf with my RTX 3060 or should I stick with the ryzen 7 5700x , because on the ryzen there's no cooler in the box so it'll cost more overall and so I'll go straight to the I5-12600kf instead of going to the I5-12400 first?

The cost is still cheaper, than the 12400 solution. You don't need a massive cooler, to cool a 5700x. My 5800x is being cooled by a cheap Vetroo V5. The 12600k/kf is definitely a better chip though. If you can afford the extra, definitely go with that.

I would go with a bit less expensive drive, to get the regular K model. KF lacks integrated graphics which can be a useful tool to have.

PCPP was showing some of that stuff out of stock, at Amazon. 99 euro is too much for a 1tb drive, when you can get a 2tb for not a lot more. Games are getting huge these days.
