[citation][nom]malmental[/nom]2500K is all you need but the 2600K is still the monster...wait for Ivy or get one now.me personally will pass on these SB-E chips.[/citation]

[citation][nom]hcstnfrd[/nom]“So why not show what this system can do with three cards able to more fully populate the processor’s 40 PCI Express lanes, Chris?”Because it'd be the same neck to neck affair and hopefully no one would ask such a stupid question. Hope your E-Peen is treating you well.Regards, Holden[/citation]

And because, as I mentioned in the review, multi-card configurations weren't working on my early sample ;-)

Are we to assume then that Core i7-3960X is as good as X79 gets?
From other reviews the benchmarks appear to be 30% - 50% higher than the i7-2600K but I dare to think about how much it will cost.

About what I expected. A good platform if you want to run 3 graphics cards. What I don't understand is, why didn't they release this either earlier or a few months later with an Ivy Bridge processor. When I first heard about LGA2011, I assumed it would be an Ivy Bridge processor coming with it. I never heard the Sandy Bridge-E name until a few months ago.

Wow, why is it that you folks cant seem to understand that this is a minor revision of the SB and NOT a new chip at all?

Have you read any of the reviews at all? You're going to be disappointed

What about Sandy Bridge (LGA1155)? Was that a disappointment?
And what about Llano? I mean it's not the greatest for extreme gamers, but for anyone needing a cheap CPU with great IGP it's a very good option.

i forgot about Llano, its great for htpc . sandy bridge brought 990x power to 300-$350 price range but a lot of people including me thought bulldozer was better so we built am3 + rigs .
