I read this article cause I'm planning to upgrade my i5-2500k/P67A-GD55(B3).
I'm thinking to build a new configuration maybe using a i7-4820K/P8Z77-V LX2.
Video Card Sapphire HD 7950 (11196-16-20G) PCI-Express 3.0
Should i wait for a new platform to buid an all new PC ?

I wouldn't bother upgrading. Wait till at least broadwell.

z77 chipset supports lga 1155 cpus up to core i7 3770k.
core i7 4820k is lga2011 afaik. it's not compatible with z77 motherboards.
the radeon 7950 will fit either motherboard.

You know what pisses me off? We should've had IVB-E last year! Right now we should have Haswell-E!

Dual Xeons cost money. A lot of money. And not every studio can allow itself to get dual-X workstations and upgrade them every 3-4 or so years. Also peripherals. Pro monitors are quite expensive. Not to mention RAM. People think it's cheap even for the ECC but when we start talking 32/64 GB instead of 8 per machine, its another fat bill. 1TB SSDs for temporary files. 10 TB per machine of HDDs. Sometimes only for 5 minutes, we get to 1.5 TB of data.
