Intel CPU Prices

Just wondering if anyone knows if CPU prices are expected to drop any time soon? Specifically on the P4 800FSB variety...

Intel P4 2.4c will stay the same $170 - $175.

if u dont mind overclocking go with the 2.4c. i've heard many good things about these. Ex. being able the clock up to 3ghz without a problem, and in some cases without much or even any vcore adjustment.


I like the ease of intel systems.
I like the fun of overclocking amd systems.
That must make me mulatto or something.

If you don't mind overclocking, you could get a Barton 2500+ for $90, slap it into a Nforce2 mobo and overclock to ~2.3 - ~2.4Ghz.. Will give performance akin to a 2.8Ghz P4C on the cheap. Obviously though, an Oced P4C will still thrash it though, will cost more though....

If you want performance on the cheap, 2500+ Oced can't be beat...
