Wow, talk about total BS, and I am not talking about what Intel was shoveling.
I understand Fanboyism, but dang, you Intel twits take the cake.
Intel hasn't made a decent Processor in, what, 6 years, and you claim that when, as it looks, they finally do put out a decent processor it is going to kill everyone else??
Ehh, yeah, you need to rethink..
I love the fact Intel finally came out with a new Chip!
Honestly, that is going to make AMD come out with a better chip.
Anyone remember the race to 1ghz???
I do, that was an awesome time!
The last 6 years has allowed AMD to become a player, which I am glad they did, because it made Intel finally stop and think that if they didn't produce a quality product, that people would spend their money else where and Intel would lose out.
Anyone remember the cost of the P5-90 when it first was available?
I do, because a friend of mine built his first PC with it, $995 for that CPU, and remember, it had the floating decimal point error that caused problems...
Yeah, sorry, I do not EVER want to return to the days where 1 processor maker is king, NEVER!!
I like being able to get newer processors cheaper, even after 13 years.
Competition is great, lets hope both companies survive and both compete, if not, you won't see innovation like you are seeing now.
Remember how long it took to get from 386 to 486 to the P5?? That wasn't innovation, that was the 900 lb gorilla milking each new processor for as long as they could.
Now they can't do that, and that is a GREAT thing.
Let Intel have this time in the spotlight, make AMD rethink and reinnovate, better products is better for you and me..
As for me, I'll buy the best available for my money when I am ready to buy. I don't care if it is Intel or AMD...
