Intel Hopes New Batteries Can Reduce Ultrabook Cost

Intel has been nothing but annoying about this whole thing. First they demanded (more or less) manufacturers build this form factor, then they demanded it cost less. Now they are demanding it cost even less. The focus should be on quality not price here. I don't care if I can buy one for $700, if it's a piece of crap I'm not getting one. We got two HP folio's at work and I can say they are nice. They are a $1000 a piece, but worth considering. Keep the quality high so people will want to buy them, an economies of scale will eventually bring the costs down. If they are cheap crap it won't matter, no one will want to buy them.
 
Seeing that the world supply of Lithium is actually rather limited we need to find an alternative battery type. Especially with more hybrids hitting the road everyday using up massive amounts of Lithium in their battery systems.

Hydrogen fuel cells for cars is still my current favorite as the waste product is Water !
 



we can always mine the moon or recycle lithium. or we could jut make more 😀
