Intel i5 2550k 5.0Ghz @ 1.37v, ok for 24/7 OC?

Solution
Um... the H50 is good and all but they just came out with two successors. The H80 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181016
is only a little bit more than the h50 and according to tech reviews cools better and has adjustable fan speed for when you want it even quieter. but if you have teh space in your case you really want the H100

I think the H50 is like the very first model they came out with followed by the H70, H60, H80, and H100 all fairly close in price so i'm not sure why someone would even suggest the H50.

If you want it to be very quiet but effective, get the h100 (or even the H80) and add more fans in a push/pull configuration and keep them...
Running processors 24/7 is not a problem until you get to very high overclocks. 5.0 ghz is a pretty high overclock, so I'm not entirely sure.
The right question is how much it will affect the lifespan. If you keep the voltage far under 1.52v, temps around where they're at, and the computer is stable after 4-6 hours of prime 95, then you shouldn't see any noticeable loss of life in the cpu. If any of these factors fails, you will probably end up badly hurting cpu life.

yeah, i was wondering if its ok since my voltage is so low. Must be an awesome chip! I have passed the P95 tests for 12+ hrs, but my temps seem kinda iffy, because very briefly, the temps can hit 85c, but only for a few seconds. Anyone else have a definitive answer?

My average temps at load is at the 71-74c range, but i've seen it reach high as 85c, but only for a couple seconds and its back to the the average temps. May be i need to get a noctua nh-d14? or a water cooler around that $90 range. anyone have recommendations?

Because my volts are low enough, and it's the all-mighty 5.0Ghz man! I dont have a problem swapping out my zalman cnps990max if anyone has a recommendation for a QUIET CPU cooler, water or air that is sub $120.

Awesome and I agree with you fully 5 GHZ when possible why the hell not ?

Ok, just bought the Corsair Hydro Series H80
and 2x Noctua NF-P12 - Case fan - 120 mm

Those fans are supposed to be stupid quiet, so I'll compare them to the 2x 120mm fans included in the H80 and determine if i need to return the fans.

I bought the package for a total of $98 on amazon since I had a $33 gift card. Their RMA process is 100 times better than newegg too, and i get them on 9/16 😀

The H100 would fit in my case, but i would be sacrificing the 230mm fan in my case so it could mount on top. I have the HAF 932 case.
