Which CPU will be better for gaming between Intel i5 4460 & AMD FX 6300 3.5 GHz plz....Other specs, GPU: Radeon R7 260X 2GB
Ram : G-sKill Ripjaws 8GB(4x2)
PSU : Thermaltek 550 Lite power
Cooler : Water 3.0

The i5 is going to be faster in 100% of cases and use less energy. If you can buy the i5 without skimping on other components, do it.

The i5 will be better for gaming as it has more efficient architecture, it will be slightly more expensive and the AMD core will support and not bottleneck your GPU, but if you want to future proof your PC get the i5

If you can OC the 6300 enough, its fairly comparable to a Haswell i5 and you pocket a bunch.

Dude the the price diff is big but you will need some solid cooling to get the 6300 to the point where it starts to catch up with the i5 and that will narrow the price diff. So go for the i5 and you won`t be displeased!

You need a $30 cooler to get it to a full 1 GHz above stock with good temps. At that point you're still saving almost $100

Saving for how long? With the extra energy 1ghz needs, you're going to be spending $30/year more (3 hours peak+9 hours idle per day) in electricity costs, at which point the i5 is still going to be cheaper in the long run!
