Hello, I had been playing The Forest game a little with my friend and I've noticed that my cpu temperature goes to 90 degrees celsius. That had also happened to me when I was playing Battlefield 3 but I was used to play bf3 for like 1-2 hours and in meanwhile nothing happened. I'm just curious that if I keep playing on this temp will something bad occur or is that just a normal thing for my type of processor? Btw I put most of the things on low settings and set max fps to 60 and software I was using to detect temp is Speccy.

Just provide your complete specs with the cooler you are using currently for your cpu? And whats your ambient temperature? How many fans do you have in your case is it big enough to maintain a good airflow? If you need proper guidance thn you need to tell us every thing in detail so we can help you better.

And regarding to your question which is your temps are going almost 90c is alarming and could be harmful for your cpu cuz now a days CPUs are made to work on full load at lower temperatures as compared to old cpus. Max acceptable temps are 80c above 80 is alarming and something is not working properly it may be your cpu fan, dust, dry thermal paste or bad airflow. Just mention the details so that we can help you maintain your temps at lower side.

Without your full system information it is hard to say exactly what the issue is.

However I noticed that The Forest is a more CPU intensive game and poorly optimized. Many others have complained about this issue (you can google and see results of this complaint at the end of last year even, so you are not the only one).

Of course check your CPU loads and temps in other games and programs...and check them in The Forest on lower settings to see what you are getting.
