So, for about a year ago i posted a thread about overclocking my CPU. (Intel I7 5820K Overclocking help!)
So this is kinda a "Part2" thread.

And i did try a few things but never managed to get anything out of my CPU. But now i'm more into trying again. But i found BIOS Very hard with voltage's and stuff like that wich makes me a little nervous.

(In the last thread, alot of nice people said that i could easily overclock with my PSU, temps and stuff like that. Wich was really nice to know).

-Does anyone have a program that will handle it for me this time?
I have runned a benchmark with "MSI Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, and got a score on 1375 marks (Not sure if that's good nor bad for my system)

Again, i do not really have any experience with overclocking. I just tried once but it failed and rebooted and i haven't really looked into much more.

If anyone would help me trough the proccess i would appreciate it alot. Thank you again,
I'm thinking 3,7ghz -3,9ghz (No further than 3.9)

Specs:
Intel I7 5820K
EVGA Geforce GTX 980 (Overclocked by factory)
MSI X99 SLI+
16GB DDR4 ~2400mhz
HDD+SSD
Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold

Solution

Nothing, just do that and see what happens, if you are lucky try 41 if unlucky try 1.11v
Is my CPU Stable or unstable? I'm using MSI Intel Tuning thing to stress test the CPU, it says passed. But the utilization drops from 100 - 94% sometimes. It's running at 1.18Vcore and 40x multiplier.

Task manager says 100% cpu load when stress testing, but i guess it isn't as acurete.
EDIT: Temps is fine btw, the max i've seen from at 30m stresstest is 55*c

EDIT2: I would like to point out the stresstest says passed, and the benchmark have gained about 10-20% improvement.

It'll tell you if it's not. The stickies will advise the suite of testing tools.

That's your first overclock. About 25%i think.

Would you mind posting a link for that exact stickie you are talking about? I can't seem to find the right one that will proviode the infomation

Just a little update. The overclock seems to have worked fine. It's running a fixed 4.0ghz wich is also what i wanted. And i can already feel alot better fps in CPU intensive games and the rendering of a map ect.

Thank you guys very much.

My System:
i7 5820
Overclocked to 4.5 GHZ; Dram 18.66; X45; Vcore 1.38V ; Vrin 1.95V;
Temps: System 30c; PCH: 34c; cpu:35c
Gigabyte X99 MB

any suggestions?
