Intel Motherboard D945GCF

Hi
1. I do not have the Motherboard's ( Intel D945GCF Mother board Diagram), and I need to know where the internal Memory card reader conects.
2. Does the motherboard provides ways to slow the CPU fan down??

You are correct. However Gateway it would not provide me with any answer. The system is out of warranty (broke down a month out of warranty 2 years ago) and I builted a differentsystem but as I said my ASUS was damaged and I am using the Intel mother board for now but I do not have the motherboard diagram to look up the connections.

1. The Memory Card attaches to the USB Headers {see image}

2. The BIOS controls the CPU Fan {if the CPU fan is connected to the CPU_FAN header; normally it is located in the upper-right corner <or> one of the corners of the CPU}. If you boot into BIOS, boot and tap the DEL key, and arrow to the right, Load Defaults, Save and Exit. The CPU fan will be controlled according to temperature.

All of the above is fairly universal to all MOBOs.

I am not a computer savy however I got to the bios (Phoenix bios), I assume when you say press the DEL key you mean Delete. I've followed your instructions and I set the Bios to use Defaults. However it's been a while that the system is running and I do not hear the fan to be slowing down. Either I am doing something wrong or the CPU temprature remains the same.

Some CPU Fans are controlled by a Driver, and the link for you Gateway did not list any drivers for that purpose. At idle the CPU temp should not be above ~ 50C otherwise I would strongly recommend that you either replace the Thermal Paste or the CPU Fan itself.

The CPU temp is runnig around 33C according to the reading in BIOS
Unfortunately The Phoenix Bios has no "Smart fan control" The Fan is runing continusly at 2040 RPM again acording to BIOS
So I guess there is no much about I can do with this MOBO

There is only One USB 2 and one USB 1 on the mother board is not even close to the picture you provided me earlier for USBs
The USB2 has two rows of pins. The upper raw with five pins and immediately inderneath a 4pin raw. Both raws are used for the 2 Front USBs therefore there is no place to plug the internal SD flash reader. You think if I connected to USB 1 would do the job?? I haven't tried it.

I tried the websites above but honestly I do not understand how to use the Trial version once I downloaded. Anyhow
I am taking alot of your time, which I really appreciate. When I see your message and the time received it appears we have atleast 10 hours difference I suppose you are not in US. Thank you again.

Yes, you can use the USB 1.0 the data transfer rate will only be slower.

As far as "looks" some have a "plastic" plug around them, but the norm is 5+4 pin arrangement.
