Question Intel or Ryzen

i am in the market to buy a new gaming system. the problem is that for the price of intel core i5 9600k, i can buy a Ryzen 2700. I want to be future-proof.
what should i do ?
what are the performance trade off's if i go with either option?
i am not much into overclocking but a moderate overclock will be good.

2700x on a good x470 motherboard and 3200MHz RAM and you wouldn't need any overclocking, it boosts to within few percent of best OC.

Unfortunately the x470 are not available yet, besides they are a little expensive. That's y i m going with the Asus b450-f mobo

I’d pick either a 2600 or 2700 over any i5.
