So I overclock my g3258 to 4.6ghz at 1.4v

At 1.375v, I got some blue screen while light gaming so I put the voltage up to 1.4v
I stress test the voltage for 12h at 1,4v and no problem. (24h test is hard for me and my time management)

After looking online, I find some people doing like 4,8ghz at 1.3v or always near this, I think that my chip is bad, but is it that bad or I got something wrong?

My BCLK is at 100, as my xmp set it

And is 1.4v dangerous? If I need to reduce to 1.35v, I will fall under 4.4ghz and maybe under that to

Every is cooled by a h100i, and my temps are around 65, 70degreesC

i have the same cpu and a msi b85-g43 gaming MoBo stock cooler, im on 1.275v @ 4.4 Ghz without problem but the temps are on mids 80´s when full loaded with AIDA 64 or Intel XTU, i think i havent any room for improvment, are normal that high temps at just 1.275?

Seems about right with the stock cooler.

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

I would suggest change the cooler for a better one, Hyper 212 Evo is cheap and excellent for the work.

What settings are your using in BIOS? What cache frequency have the CPU? What cache voltage? What VRIN or VCCIN have in BIOS?

is it advisable to go beyond 1.275 with stock cooler? i mean im afraid to overheat the chip if i go beyond that point, any experiences? thanks

Personally, I wouldn't be overclocking at all with the stock cooler 😛 But you seem to have hit the limit with yours + the stock cooler and mid 80's are fine under stress testing, I would either leave it there, clock it back a little, or get a better cooler and see what I can get with 1.4-1.45v 😛

Seems a reasonable advice lol, i want to buy a H100i closed loop to see what far can i get this piece of chip. thanks
