They are scrapping the Core 2 line since the Core ix series now encompasses almost every price level. The Atom line is almost completely separate from the rest of their chips and is designed to be extremely low-power, something that not even their Celerons have traditionally been. Atom = netbook, Celeron = extremely cheap desktop/laptop.
