8x 8-core nehalem based CPU plus memory up the wazoo? I'll take mine with 32 GeForce GTX 295's in uber SLI!

Don't worry about bringing your own computer to my LAN party... all you need is a little terminal to game on this beast!
 
Not to be picky, but the title seems to be confusing people. There is no "16x Hyperthreading", the correct title should read "8 socket" instead of "8 core" for the statement to be correct.

I think some people are missing the point, this is a XEON, as in for servers. If I can make 4 servers turn into one, then that is progress, less boxes, less power, less cost to run. Software doesn't need to be set up to handle this many CPUs, that is what VMware is for. This is going to be a huge hit, 128 threads would enable a huge performance benefit for VMware, and a 16 core x3650 from IBM, which *might be coming* would be a huge benefit.
