intel vs amd ENOUGH!!!

you know this subject is starting to get a little boring, and filling this forum with a lot of , well you know what .
yes amd is good , so are intel , opinions are cool on each , but come on guy's enough please.
what if i loved chev's and you all liked fords , same differance.just like some korean cars have better warranties than north american , and are much cheaper "maybe" better but if i like north american then i don't want to listen to some idiot try to change my mind. gee i can bash fords and you can bash chev's , and we can simply bash each other all day , all night , forever.can we let some of this crap rest and get on with the forum to help TEACH others , and HELP others.
oh guess what else , i havn't told you what i operate on , and i don't feel a need to , as i WILL NOT insult either amd or intel they are both GOOD stuff.

Actually, I always have a good reason for whatever I say, that I can back up with facts, experience, and statistics.
BTW I've only ever owned two Fords and they both died from catastophic engine failures! But my father has had good luck with them, so they can't be all bad.

Actually, I haven't much to say on this. I tend to ignore the flame-wars, so they don't bother me that much anymore.

Na I do agree with you but as I said in a post a little while ago it is mainly a small group of extremists that cause most of the flame wars.....
but I'm afraid it won't stop while they feel some kind of bond with the big corp's that would rip you off rather than look at you.....
My suggestion is just to try not to get them excited mabye they will stay calm then..

I would assume you could ignore them and their inflammatory posts. They'll probably get bored of it and move on. Thing is, forums always have someone like that (unless the administrator is VERY strict and boots them). We just have to kind of deal with it...

I think the real problem is that people get hung up on companies and not products. Same goes for the GM vs. Ford thing. eg. Consumer's reports has found that the underappriciated ford escort is as reliable as the best of the japanese cars! This doesn't mean all Fords are reliable and I'm not implying Ford is "better" in anyway. The Corvette Z06 is in a class all it's own, ford doesn't produce a product to compete with it.

I think for cpus many people see that athlon performance is supperior in price and performance to intel's offerings and yet for some reason people continue to buy PIIIs. For many this is just silly. You could say the same for the escort, why would anyone buy the "beter looking" cavilier when you could have the rock solid, but modest escort? (with the focus phasing out the escort this may seem a wierd arguement) On the other hand you can't discount the P4. It has some interesting performance and may be the best option in different situations. Since most of us are probably gamers, this doesn't apply to us. But, when SSE2 becomes widespread, people who bashed intel and not intel's products may look pretty foolish. Essentially intel is in an archetectural transition period. Intel is moving away from x86 floating point and thus aren't competing as vigourously in that area. Does this mean the company is bad? Not to mention the purpose of companies is to make money, not to produce "cool" technology!

Intel sucks right now is the key statement. But maybe not tommorrow. Problem is that while Intel is changing, so is AMD. So once Intel leaves the gates again, AMD will be right there.

See you missed part of the problem. Intel doesn't suck. What you want to say is the P4,3 and celeron suck. When intel is in the red for 2 years straight, then you can say intel sucks.

Amd will be right there eh? They're in good shape right now, but I don't have a lot of confidence in AMD nuking intel long term. Not to mention the market for cpus has/is changing. Who knows, 15 years from now regular people might not EVER upgrade because the performance is no longer an issue. Look at MS, they see the writing on the wall, that's the whole idea behind the xbox. They've found the only part of the software industry that will be the same into the forseeable future. This allows them to maintain a steady stream of revenue. At some point, AMD's main revenue base will not be a result of selling high performance, ever evolving cpus. If cpus remain their main revenue source it'll be a volume thing, just like the companies that make individual transistors for 2cents a pop.

LOL I had a ford escort they Suck big time. Best car I ever had was a datsun 280zx turbo inline six. 110 up mountain roads. Ford could only do 55mph up a mountain road. And [-peep-] if you slow down lets say 45mph you had it. the Z I could drop it in 3 and get back to 85mph befor I hit the top.

Fords SUCK.

no Ford dosen't suck but some of their cheap cars do,well kinda, you get what you pay for,ever driven a GT40, or a COBRA,or a PANTERRA, imean your comparing a $10000 car to a $20000 car thats like crazy .the cobra was built in the 60's and it still holds the speed record today,0-100-0 in 10 seconds thats why they cost 500,000. today

The point of that is this. so long as u have even the min. of difference in something . product. people. colour. what have you , there is going to bea real human need to argue the point and state who is better than who what .

so until we no longer have that urge. make sure you drive over datsuns , because they SUCK. And because there car got flatten by a superior product. should not make em feel like there wiener is smaller.. i just happen to own the better of the two products

A GMC hit my truck three weeks ago at 55mph driver side to driver side.. now im not saying my truck is superior... but... his got totalled out. mine did not, he got a ticket. i did not. and i got in mine and drove away.... with just a smile on my face.
