Is this a decent CPU or not? I am old school and have fallen behind on all names etc. I mean i would be paying 35$ so that should tell me something right? It is for a secondary computer but I want it to be able to do things without being sluggish.

This means you already have a lga 1366 board right?
Also what does this system have to do?
If you have an lg 1366 board there are far better cpu's you can get for the same money.

Yes I have a lga 1366 board and it doesnt have to do anything specific. Let me know what processors you think are better options for the price. I am open to suggestions

I do need some usecases however. Because certain cpu's are the better option for gaming whilst others are the better option for productivity. Even an old pentium 4 doesn't feel sluggish writing a document in word ya know .

It would be a basic computer for browsing and watching vids and maybe online games but nothing intense. What an average computer user would do. I have a primary computer for any gaming, or photo editing etc.

Then I would recommend a cpu with faster single core performance over one that has many cores. Also do you have a gpu that you can pair it with since these do not have a igpu.
