Hi There :)

I've got an issue with my PC and trying to work through what to test next. I cant replicate the fault every time but it seems to happen when load is put on the machine.

I had the machine running idle for 3.5 hours with no issues however it will go dark about 15 minutes into a game (Completely power off)

These are the following things I have notice thus far:

  • When it goes dark, it is like I have just turned the power off at the wall.
  • If I turn the power off at the wall or at my PSU and back on straight away the RGB light of my motherboard will light up, put it will not power on from the switch.
  • If I turn it off from the wall or PSU and leave it in that state for around 45 - 60 mins, I can then power it on as normal.
  • If I don't wait at least 45 mins I can not turn it back on and have to wait another 45 with the power unplugged.
Things I have done whilst it is in a failed state (Not in order):

  • Swapped PSU with working PSU, This resulted in no change.
  • Completely uninstalled / reinstalled the entire machine (Including new compound on the CPU)
  • Stressed tested both the CPU and RAM, Both reported fine.
  • Updated all drivers and firmware (Including windows updates)
  • Tracked CPU temp, Highest recorded was 65 degrees c when under 100% load for 5 minutes, as cooler kicked in at a higher rate this dropped quickly.
  • Ran all fans and cooler at 100%, issue still occurred.
  • Reset CMOS battery
  • Reset bios to factory default.
My components are:

CPU: i7-10700KF
CPU Cooler: Thermaltake TH360 Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASUS TUF-GAMING-Z590 + Wifi
RAM: Kingstone Fury Beast 32GB
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2070
PSU: Themaltake 80+ Gold 850W
SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 500gb (C:\)
Samsung 980 1TB (D:\)

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Dino
