Hello,
so I bought one HDD case from ebay because I had some internal 2,5" HDD that wanted to make external drives. The one drive was from my laptop (i swapped it with an SSD) and worked perfectly, I partitioned it etc. all good. I tried then with the same case an older Sata HDD that I had lying around. Upon connecting the led indicated that there is power going through and the drive started spinning normally (i could feel and hear it). The problem is that it doesn't show up neither on Disk Management nor on Device Manager. What can i try?

Hey there, ntilikas.

You could try connecting it internally to a different computer, just to see if the same thing happens. If it does, then it's highly probable that it might have failed. You could also download its manufacturer's diagnostic tool and try running the tests on the drive if it's recognized by the software.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
