I have an acer laptop travelMate 2480 running Windows Vista. I have attempted to access the Internet using local wifi connections.however when I log onto a wifi connection both secure and unsecured. The wireless network cannot diagnosis the connection problem. I eventually get a message that says "cannot communicate w/ DNS server (144.230.82.74). It further states windows found a problem that cannot be repaired automatically . I am not computer savvy and would appreciate any helpful input to resolve the issue. My email is Wayneboston7@gmail.com

First, insure that your wireless adapter is working by checking in the device manager. If it is working, I would change the wireless MAC address for the adapter using THIS program, which will save your old address and can solve this type issue. Just make the change, restart your computer, and then wait until all the wireless networks are detected, choose yours and enter the passkey.
