hello guys, new user.

for as long as i can remember this has been happening.

in winter the internet is fine. when it starts to get warm as it is now. the internet will start to disconnect and reconnect everyday all day. either untill i get mad and ignore it or it fixes itself witch can be couple hours to months, yes i said months. i call the internet company out and they just say the same crap, ooo we have to turn it down for it to work.

there the only company around.

i have replace the router and modem that dose nothing. replace the cable that comes into the house, that did nothing. can someone help me out.

really not the best at computers so yeah.

Who is your ISP and what make and models are your modem and router?

Very likely the problem is cable related. In winter things are cold and contracted. Connections are tighter.

When temperatures warm, the house and everything else may shift about just enough to cause a cable to be pinched, pulled, or otherwise loose full connectivity.

As safely as you can (no climbing on poles or roofs) trace all of the involved cables and wires. Look for crimps, bends, twists, nails/staples etc. that bind the cable. Sketch a diagram showing all cables and connections.

Inspect wall outlets. Swap out internal cables with known working cables where possible.

Look for splitters. One cable going in - two or more cables going out.

Splitters are made very cheaply and can and do fail. In winter, the splitter may be fine due to contraction and tight connectivity. In warmer days (direct sun perhaps) the problem re-occurs.

I usually end up replacing one or two splitters per year. Very much in the habit of begging a spare one or two any time I get to chat with a Xfinity tech in the neighborhood. Saves them a trip later on.....

See what you can find and post accordingly.

I have the same problem intermittently with one or two of my isps every few years. Make your test straight from the modem and have them test it on their end too and they'll set up a call to fix the wiring outside. You may have to call them back in the winter when the issue raises its head again, but after the isp sees this happen a few times they will change stuff to prevent it. It took about 5 years for my isps to get their act together and now I rarely have any issues. Good luck!

company is Lumos, router and modem are linsky's

now with this virus going around, really dont want to call to have someone come out right now.

i dont think i have a splitter, it comes off the pole to a box on the back of the house, and goes straight into the house to a little box, next to the modem and router,

i have replaced the router and modem, and all wires multiple times, and nothing seems to fix it.

the company says im on the very end of the line and that's why the speed is so low and that it keeps going in and out. but i find that hard to believe cause my buddy is right down the road from me and he dose not have the disconnecting and reconnecting issue,

my speed is about 1mbs upload and .500kbs download.

If the isp says you have an issue, let them come and fix it. It's a bit of a risk, but otherwise you're risking having terrible Internet while you sit and wait this out.

they wont do anything. but come and check and say (yep, your to far away we will have to turn it down) witch is bs,
i hate this company.

Let them come and do it if it's free. Then if it doesn't work, call them again and again. It's their dime and it will keep costing them. And if they don't fix it, just disconnect and get a cellular hotspot from tmobile as they're giving them away free for 30 days.

hotspot is junk also.
only way it will get fix is if i figure it out. they wont do anything. but send a guy to turn it down more.
