Hello, my PC about 3-5 months ago was working perfectly fine with the internet, until it one day started having issues.

I was connected to the internet but going online on multiplayer games would not work. One example is Halo Infinite multiplayer. Every time I got into it, it would say that it was not connected to the servers. Tried many others to no avail.

I found a USB internet connector, stuck it onto my computer and it worked perfectly fine, so I called it a day. A while after that, things got worse, even with the USB connector. My internet would spike at points while playing games, or worse, I couldn't stream or host a Minecraft server for my friends.

The server was up, but every time someone would join it, nothing would happen on their screens except them infinitely falling and being disconnected 15 seconds later. When I would try to stream, it would not start the stream at all.

When playing games, my connection would lag at various points, hence a lag spike here and there. Now I checked the internet speed both when my computer originally started being problematic with the internet, and quite recently as well. I would get 500-800 MBPS download and upload speed. I finally snapped and decided to go through the website for my router and look there for any resolution to the problem.

I've tried pretty much everything I could, even restarting the router, but nothing has worked. I went on a website to check my IP, and it showed that my IPV6 connection was undetected but it showed my IPV4 connection.

I'm stumped on what to do and might just get someone to come out and fix it at this point. Help would be GREATLY appreciated. My computer is also fine for the most part, I have decent specs and I haven't noticed any issues from it.

ISP? Make and model modem, make and model router, or modem/router if combined?

Disable IPv6 for testing purposes.

Verify that only one network adapter is enabled.

Check the router's logs (if available and enabled). The router's logs may provide some clue as to what is happening.

Actually, my IPV6 has been constantly undetected by websites and what not I use to check my IP for some odd reason. I recently changed some settings in device manager to some form of degree enough to where both my IPV4 and iPV6 are detected now. I don't think it's the IPV6 that's the problem. Also, my internet is Verizon and it's 1 GBPS speed. I did have two network adapters enabled; Both a Linksys USB adapter and a built-in connector, Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9260 160MHz. Also, the model of my router is G3100. Every other device I've been on has worked perfectly fine on the router except this PC. I've checked the router logs yet I don't see anything out of the ordinary, nor do I understand much of it to begin with. I just don't understand why this is happening. Everything has worked perfectly fine beforehand, but now the connection is just being difficult. It's also gotten worse lately, I have really bad lag spikes when playing online multiplayer on games. If I could, I would hook my PC up to ethernet but that's not possible considering my PC is on the floor above the router, and the position the router is in would not make it ideal to hook my PC up.

Run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

Likewise also run "arp -a".

Post the results.

Use Task Manager and Resource Monitor to observe system performance. Use both tools but only one at a time.

Look for some change in resource usage when the lags occur.
