ios 12 vs 11 upgrade or not

Don't know where to post this question, so to mods, feel free to move where it belongs.

I have currently IS 10.3.3 on iPhone SE, which is generally enough for my needs, till now. NOw I have to install app, which requires at least ISO 11.
I know how to install IPSW (iPhone backup files), and can get any IOS version. What should I do - I was ready to upgrade to the latest, but all IOS 12 versions appear to be buggy, in one way or another. IOS 11 was baggy too, so I am now at loss.
What my best options to upgrade.
I don't really care about FaceTime, never use it, or other new smart tricks. I need my phone to make phone calls, quick internet checks, email and navigator, plus news, this is it.

So, any suggestions?

That's what I hate about iPhones, they force the upgrade on you. I have no advice whatsoever.

It totally depends on the user of the IOS devices that the user needs the upgrade or not. It is important to update the version of any device to have the new features but there are not many differences between the two versions. You can also take help of Apple iPad Support regarding this.
