So I was in conversation with some friends over coffee yesterday morning. Eventually we began to talk "shop" as we are all computer forensic investigators from the Windows 7 era.
One member of our group began talking about the ability to track the iPhone 12 series. To which I suggested using airplane mode. But he insisted that even though you are in airplane mode, the phone still "pings" local towers.
I then suggested turning off the phone completely. But he said, even though the phone is "off" it can still be tracked as it is not "off" in the true sense of the word.
Can anyone tell me it this is accurate?
Thank you.
