Hi,

I want to get a little clarity on the phrase IP address not secure. Below is what I understand, please let me know if I am wrong.

1) My Wi-fi is password protected, I thought this is good enough protection for my network.

2) I have a basic anti-virus protection. I thought that as long as I have some time of anti-virus I am ok to browse the net.

3) Many times I have seen the phrase "your IP address is not secure". I thought if I have the above two, my connection to the net is protected.

I am having multiple issues that I think is arise from one problem and I am not able to pin point what it is. Below is what I am trying to do:

A) I have WD my cloud connected to the router. It works fine when I am home, but will not connect when I am out of the home. I have followed all the set and I don't think the problem set up. I fill it has to do with WD my cloud to able to securely transmit info over the net and I think it has to with getting more secure protection.

B) I am also trying to connect Netgear Wi-Fi extender.

Both of the above worked for some time. When I reset up the Netgear Wi-Fi extender, it mention the connection is not secure. Not sure what that means, but I have a filling whatever I am missing will solve both the issue. Just that I don't know and don't understand the connection.

Hope someone can help me figure it out.

Thank in advance for your help.

The "your IP address is not secure" depends on what address it is talking about. My guess is the MyCloud. And it is probably saying that because it is using a self-signed SSL certificate.
The remote access problem will require more information. What protocol are you trying to use?
