Is 1600Mhz enough?

Im building a new pc consisting of a 1060 3gb and i5-6600
My ram would be Ballistix 2x4gb 1600Mhz.
My question is: Does RAM speed matter in my build? Thank you

Your i5 6600 is skylake so your mobo will require DDR4 memory. I believe the lowest speed of DDR4 is 2133. If you say yours is 1600 Mhz then I think it is DDR3 memory.

They don't make DDR4 in 1600MHz.
