Hey guyes!

I'm currently using a Corsiar RM 650x 80+ gold for my Ryzen 5 3600x and MSI 3070 gaming x trio with a b550 motherboard.

I'm looking forward to change my cpu to ryzen 7 5800X or intel core i5 12600k (will change the motherboard in that case as well).

Do i need to upgrade it to 750W or 650W is fine?

Hello frogman083. With either the Ryzen 7 5800X or Intel core i5-12600K, you should be fine with your Corsair RMx650. But if you ever plan on upgrading your GPU to a RTX 3080 or above, then you'll need to upgrade your PSU wattage. In that case, 1,000 watts would be the ideal purchase, but I've heard of people sufficing with 850 watts.

FYI: I believe your MSI RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio requires two 8 pin PCIe connectors, and you should know that all the new Z690 boards appears to require no less than two 8 pin PCIe connectors. The current edition of the RMx650 has those socket, and accompanying cables, but just thought that I would mention it.

You may need more for the Intel chip as it can draw quite a bit of power but should be fine for the AMD one.
