[SOLVED] Is 8GB+ RAM enough?

I have a Ryzen 3 3200G APU paired with a x1 8GB @2400MHz. I am wondering if this amount of memory is enough to play games like GTA V and Fallout 4.

They'll be playable, but you'll have to be aggressive at turning the settings down. Unfortunately, you're limiting your 3200G a bit with a very poor choice of RAM; slow RAM in single-channel is not what you want for a Ryzen build, especially one using the integrated graphics.

The latter. RAM will only run at the speed of the slowest stick and only RAM that's sold together in the same package is guaranteed to work together.

Stick to 16GB x2 as the bare minimum.
In your case it's better to stick with identical Ram sticks. Or at the very least same speed rated sticks.

it should be, i remember playing Fallout 4 and GTAV on my amd a-8 7600 ddr3 1833 lower settings of course. but why din't you opt for a faster ram? could you be saving for a decent gpu?

No. Again, slow clock rates choke the life out of Ryzen CPUs. The absolute minimum I'd consider putting in a Ryzen build is 3000 MHz. And a lot of people will insist on an even higher minimum.

YES that would be fine. Though I always recommend 16x2 nowadays. Just keep in mind Ryzen Processors like high Ram speeds.

I'm under the impression that he already has the 2400MHz Ram sticks. Need to find out if he can return them to pick up 3000-3200 ram sticks instead.
That's why I said it's fine, it will work but for max performance 3000+ is recommended.
