Budget is not a problem, the problems is that the pc was built for me and was supposed to have a 800w psu. Wasnt til i got home and inspected the inside that i noticed it was a 650w psu.

Hoping it would be ok as its gonna be a pain to return it and get it sorted.

You should be fine. The Corsair VS series is equivalent to the Corsair CX series, which is a tier 3 brand (see here: https://community.newegg.com/eggxpert/computer_hardware/f/135081/t/45344.aspx)

I'm assuming you're going with the VS series because you don't live in the US, right? It uses an input of 220-240v, rather than 120v.

Both of those PSUs use Chinese capacitors that can lead to heat issues and an early death for the PSU.

I was just going by the list. I have a cx500 that still works after 8 years. I just wasn't unduly worried because 650w is at least 100w more than what's needed to run a 770.

But I agree, there are better options. Try to pick a psu from the top 2 tiers from the link I gave.
