i have the oppurtunity to buy a defect one for 50$. the "defect" is that no image appear on the screen. i thought it might just be the output ports that are broken because the fans do spin. i plan to mine on it if i buy it and it works. do you think i should buy it?/what are chances that it works for mining? i have 960 4G now

Admirable
No, the ROI is horrible. According to Nicehash, the current profitability for a 980 is just over 12 bucks a month; and that's after paying 10 cents per kilowatt hour.

So assuming you're running a 980 24/7, it would take you over FOUR MONTHS before the card has paid for itself. I can only imagine the 780 being a lot longer.

The gtx 780ti does not have an ROI chance due to powerconsumption being a lot higher. Also you are getting a defective card who knows whats wrong with it. I've had many cards that seem to function and spin their fans but don't do anything since they a component is broken. The chance of it are very small and this is honestly just a waste of money.
