Is a PCIE 2.1 GPU on a PCIE 2.0 mobo cool?

Is a PCIE 2.1 GPU on a PCIE 2.0 mobo cool? Has anyone heard of issues that can be directly linked specifically to this difference in version (not just some other random incompatibility or DOA board)?

2.1 has no issues in Motherboards with 2.0 slots!
