Is an AMD phenom x4 925 good for gaming?

Im new to building computers and Im wondering if this cpu is good for a gaming computer. I found this combo on newegg it includes this cpu and a 1TB hard drive for 145 bucks which seems really good.

Whats the difference between a 955 x4 and a 925

The 955 has 3.4ghz but the 925 only has 2.8ghz, does that mean the 3.4 is faster and better cuz it has higher ghz?

In layman's terms, YES 955 is faster and better cpu.

It's your 'video card' that will make a processor good for gaming -- the 925 is a good processor but the 955 is really good.

Also note: Don't be fooled. It is a little disingenuous to call the HDD listed in your combo as *SATA 6Gb/s*

It looks to be a decent mid-level HDD but its performance will not match that of the Spinpoint F3 SATA 3Gb/s drives.
