Is cost rewarded by performance?

Hi,

I am currently in the process of upgrading my unit and would appreciate advice on if the cost is worth the performance gain?

Looking at the following:

2 x Sapphire 4870 512mb DDR5, around $400 Aus; or

2 x EAH4890 Formula/HTDI/1GD5, around $650 Aus.

Any advice or better choice would be appreciated.

Note. These will be running with a CPU i7 920, MOBO ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, Cosair dominator 1600 DDR3 and CM 850 power supply.

You may regret your choice in a month. I'd suggest waiting for the new wave of cards.

Although being in Aus the OP won't see any of the new wave until this time next year. :lol:
