Is gtx 760 a good gaming card. Will it be good for gaming in future (in ultra settings)?? I am planing on buying it. Will it run all new games now and in the comming years?

Based on PC Part Picker prices, and this is just a rough guess-timate on my part, if you went with a GTX780, you'd be paying between $340 and $555 for the same performance as a card that costs generally between $180 and $280. Yes, you'll have more head room should you later decide to upgrade your processor.

And just for reference, even if you ignore my previous advice, do not get the GTX780, but the GTX970. Same price range, but better performance and less power consumption.

You could be going with a processor upgrade in one day and I'd still not recommend the GTX 780. Didn't I just say:

Given that your proposed processor upgrade is a year away, I still would not recommend anything greater than the GTX 760. By then, a new generation of processors will be out and any proposed upgrade you have now would be all but fruitless. In a year, you'll be wanting to upgrade to an entirely new platform.

Will the bottleneck be signifiant if i run games on high settings and not on ultra?
I am using gtx 650. Will this gtx 970 (instead of bottlenecks) bring improvements to my gaming experiance??

:sigh:

If game performance is GPU based, then yes, you're bottleneck experience will be lessened.

Yes, you should note a modest improvement in your gaming experience.

A gpu can never 'bottleneck' the cpu, only the other way around, and in that sense, the term 'bottleneck' only refers to the fact that basically the data comes from the HD, through the cpu, to the gpu, to the monitor. If you have a slower cpu, or not enough cores to handle the amount of data in a timely manner, then the amount of data passed to the gpu is less than the gpu can pass to the monitor, or in layman's terms, you get less frames.

For an i3, the gtx760 is a balanced match, the cpu can only work so fast, and the amount of data passed to the 760 is fine. Pairing a 770, r9 290 etc, is just overkill on the gpu side, since the cpu will not send enough data to adequately utilize the gpu' capabilities.

So having core i3 2120 and mother board dh61ww, should i go for gtx 970? I will be upgrading to i5 3570k after a year. Also, will the bottleneck affect the gpu physically or decrease gpu's life?

Yes, buy the 970 right now, this very instant lol. Your CPU will bottleneck your 970 for the time being but you'll still gain a pretty large performance increase. As soon as you do upgrade your CPU then you''ll see a huge performance increase but only as long as you buy the 970 not the 760! Please do not buy the 760 for your own sake. It's a great card in its own right but nowhere near as powerful as the 970. If you go with 760 just know that when you finally do upgrade your CPU you will be disappointed with the small performance boost awaiting you. The 760 has met it's match with this year's games and will not keep up with next year's. The 970 however should get you 2-3 years worth of high/ultra gaming. You must purchase the 970. I'm trying to do you a favor here :)

Also, a CPU bottleneck will not decrease the lifespan of your GPU. No worries with that. Overclocking would decrease the lifespan of a GPU but not from a CPU bottleneck.

You are very welcome! No the CPU bottleneck will not damage or decrease the life of the 970. The 970 is compatible with your motherboard and processor. I do suggest that you upgrade both your motherboard and CPU in the future and you will see a huge difference that way. But definitely, go with 970. The lifespan of the 760 is almost up, the 770 has a year and a half or so left, and the 780 about two years. The 970 performs better than all three of those cards and should last you three years.

No, a CPU bottleneck will not physically hurt your GPU. That is impossible. Hear it from some other people besides myself:

If it were me, I wouldn't be able to stand knowing one of my PC components was bottlenecking another but some people might not care. You really should upgrade your CPU as soon as possible though if you plan on playing new games on ultra because the i3 CPU will definitely hurt the performance of your 970.
Also, the i5-3570k would be the best CPU for the price and is compatible with your motherboard. Wolfshadw will correct me if I'm wrong lol.
