Is HDMI effected by processor speed?

I don't have a monitor but I do have a really good tv. When I connect my laptop with a 2.1 ghtz dual core processor speed, It seems like a second delay. Is it because of my processor speed? This would be good because I am getting a new computer this Christmas with a better processor. Does anyone have a answer? Or is it my HDMI cable?

is that true? Because that would be awesome! I am also getting a new graphics card, the radeon 6770. Would that hold up?

It is a decent midrange card that handles most things well up to 1080P resolution!
