I have gtx 1060 Strix 6g i5 4690K (4.5Ghz) and 16gb ram and my game drops to 30fps in action and to 40fps when looking far into the map? Is that normal? should i be getting better performance? Or is i5 4690K simply not good enough for bf1?
(btw in other games runs fine Witcher 3 with hairworks 60fps)
Cpu usage ingame 100% gpu 50%

I have yet to see someone prove why lots of gamers are getting below expectations in BF1. You are observing the same thing as I with 100% CPU and bouncing around 50-100% (ave probably 75%) GPU. That alone is usually an example of a CPU bottleneck. It could be that BF1 prefers a i7. But will the i7 then allow the GPU to run at near 100% usage? Not sure.

Here is one article that compares a i5-6600k to i7-6700k, the result is "Scaling in DirectX 11 shows the i5-6600K is about 11% slower than a hyper-threaded 6700K"

The CPU isn't the bottleneck, the i5 4690k is a fantastic CPU.
@L0stChild, advertising is not allowed, I suggest removing that last part before the mods give you a warning.
@OP, high usage doesn't mean there's a bottleneck, BF1 just has a high CPU utilization.
As mentioned above, I suggest you turn off DX12, and let us know your full settings.

advertising what? my desktop showing im running cpu tests that eats 6600k 6700k?
ill be eating your specs soon! hehe

tbh an i5 4690k oc'd should be able to run the game at 60+ on a consistant basis assuming the GPU has enough power. Some maps run with 60-100fps all the time and decent gpu usage, while others are just a lagfest with 40-50fps and stuttering on both DX11 and DX12 with a i5 4690k 4,7ghz and aorus gtx 1080 ti
