Is it bad to use a old hardrive on a new bulid

Okay I'm building a new pc and I wanted to know if it would be a good idea of I just use my old hardrive with my new motherboard processer and graphic card. Should I expect any problem or should it be fine?

If drive not defective, then no issues at all. But using an Windows from an old system is another discussion.
