Im currently having an i7 8700 pc with RX-700AC-B 80 Plus Bronze power supply. One of my friend is selling his gtx 970 4gb for a very cheap price because he is getting a new lappy. Will that gpu work with this power supply or should i change my psu ?

If you can afford to change your power supply, I would recommend you do so. The power supply is the foundation of a stable PC.

If you read the power supply discussion link I provided, you can see that the Corsair TX units or HX units is what would be recommended.
