Hopefully this is the right forum location, sorry if it's not..

I'm troubleshooting for a game I'm playing and was asked to perform a dns flush and winsock reset to figure out if my system was having issues with packet loss when trying to connect.

I've read that clearing space isn't safe on an SSD so I should avoid stuff like CCleaner, so I was worried if a flush/reset was going to be similar to that in being harmful for my ssd.

You don't defrag a SSD. The other stuff is not an issue. Using CCleaner on a SSD is fine, as is running the commands mentioned.

Thank you :) I was just a little confused about this article: https://www.howtogeek.com/165472/6-things-you-shouldnt-do-with-solid-state-drives/
because in that article it states to not wipe, and talks about "trim" a lot, although I don't understand how to see if "trim" was used when cleaning or not or how to check if my system has it/uses it.

Either way it's nice to know that it's safe to try the dns flush, thanks again.
