Today when I came back to my computer it has shutdown with a bad smell in the room. I removed all parts and try sniffing each one for them and my GPU was giving out the most odor.
Mobo + CPU + RAM + PSU will boot into BIOS. Does it mean these components are probably okay?
Are there anything else I can do to safely do more testing to find out the problem?

Here are the specs:

Maximus VI Impact
i7-4771
MSI Twin Frozr GTX780
SSR-650RM

I took apart all components and I dont have time to put them back now, but with only CPU and RAM in the Mobo I can boot into BIOS with intel iGPU.
Im hesitant to connect the GPU to test it incase its actually burnt and ending up destroying other parts, so I hope I can get some good advice.

Its 15 months since I bought it. not exactly under warranty I guess.
I always play in med settings not to torture the card and it gives up only 3 months after the warranty expires. This is sad.
Has anyone successfully negotiated something in similar cases?

It does say 1 year but Ill try to ask.

btw, I was looking for the place where it may have burnt but I dont see any sign of it. Does GPU normally smells like chemical? Its smells pretty bad close enough but Im losing confidence. I was thinking to put them back without the GPU tomorrow. a little worried that its something else and could cause other things to burn again.

Using a tester it seems like my psu's voltage is just fine (although not tested under stress)
GPU still giving out chemical smell when you sniff close enough. Only from the right side of the card. The left side (where all the ports are located) doesnt smell that much.
I was going to have my motherboard checked out just in case but it will take 3-4 weeks and my warranty is already expired anyways.

How likely that my motherboard's PCI slot be bad in this case? Any opinion?
